Habitat Boutique Hotel

A converted factory hotel in central Catania with minimalist rooms, a restaurant called Kitchen Materia and a private garage.

Why people love it

• Staff who solve problems. Giorgia, Valentina, George and Federica are named. One guest left CPAP equipment in the room and it was handled, and another found a room at the last minute after a cancelled flight.
• Upgrades on arrival. Two guests in August and September 2026 were upgraded, one to a junior suite.
• Breakfast and Kitchen Materia. Guests praise the breakfast. One singles out the chef Bianca Celano and the fresh food at the restaurant.
• Large, designed rooms. Guests mention large rooms, big bathrooms, good beds and soundproofing.
• Parking. A guest says there is a private garage, although another says the parking is far away.

The worst thing guests say

Guests have raised several issues. Noise from outside or between rooms appears in reviews from 2019 to July 2026. Reviews in 2021, 2022 and 2025 said rooms or suites did not match the website photos or description, for example a junior suite with no bathtub. Guests in 2022 and January 2026 disputed refunds or special-occasion requests, and in June 2026 a guest found moths, ants and beetles in the room. Recent ratings are mostly 5 stars.

Insider tips

• Light sleeper? Ask about noise and request a quiet room.
