Hotel Accademia

A four-star, family-owned hotel in a 20th-century building in Verona's historic center, with a restaurant, bar, gym and breakfast.

Why people love it

• Location. Guests put the Arena and Juliet's House about a 5-minute walk away, and one says the center can be covered on foot.
• Rooms. Reviewers describe spacious rooms with strong air conditioning. One guest found a box of essentials in the bathroom and another liked the personal care products.
• Service. Guests mention bags carried to rooms, punctual room service, and a manager who responded when a room was noisy.
• History. A guest notes the hotel was built in the early 20th century, partly destroyed in 1947, and hosted Maria Callas. Several seating areas around the hotel are called comfortable.

Why they come back

"Our go-to hotel for our visits to Verona. Spotlessly clean rooms equipped with every comfort. Extremely friendly staff, both at reception and in the breakfast room."

The worst thing guests say

Noise is the most common recent complaint. In August 2026 a 2-star guest in a standard double next to the pedestrian Mazzini street said it was noisy all day and night, a 3-star guest said the room below the gym had thumping until late, and a 5-star guest first placed under the laundry found it noisy and said the manager responded. Other complaints are one strong odor in a room in a 1-star from June 2026 and air conditioning blowing hot air in a 1-star from November 2025. Among 14 stayer reviews since July 2026, the lowest rating is 2 stars.

Insider tips

• Ask for a room away from the gym, the laundry and the Mazzini street side.
• You leave the room key at reception whenever you go out.
• Covered parking is available nearby.
