Liassidi Palace Hotel
A hotel in a 15th-century building on the water near St. Mark's Square, with canal views, a bar and breakfast.
Why people love it
- Location and atmosphere. Guests describe a Venetian palazzo on the water, less than 10 minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco and quiet at night.
- Staff. Reception staff are praised for being friendly and attentive, with Daniele thanked by name in a February 2026 review.
- Murano glass visit. An April 2026 guest said reception can book a free invited visit to a Murano glass factory.
- Rooms with character. Reviewers mention a canal-facing room with a balcony and a bathtub.
Why they come back
"This is our fourth stay at this hotel in recent years and although the location is excellent and it is a great experience to stay in a Venetian palazzo like this..."
The worst thing guests say
Rooms and breakfast. In 2026, five guests say the rooms are sparse or the bathroom and shower are tiny, and three call breakfast poor. In April 2026 a guest felt scammed over a 172 euro room in a building on a different street. Earlier reviews report dirty walls (March 2025), a rude receptionist (June 2025), a poor room assignment (December 2024) and dated rooms (November 2024).
Insider tips
- Ask whether your room is in the main building or an annex, since a guest was sent to a different building.
- The hotel accepts water taxi arrivals at its door.
- One 2025 guest said staff insisted on cash payment for a service, so ask about payment at check-in.
