Hotel Bel Soggiorno

A hotel in two medieval buildings just inside the San Giovanni gate of San Gimignano, with a restaurant and a breakfast terrace over the hills.

Why people love it

• The staff. Francesca is named in several reviews. Guests describe the team as friendly and knowledgeable, and say the service was warm.
• Breakfast with a view. Eggs are made to order, and guests praise the cakes and the panoramic view of the Tuscan hills from the terrace.
• Location. It is in the center of town, and parking is about 150 meters away. One guest had a room with a very large terrace.
• Rooms. Guests describe the rooms as clean and a good size, and one said the air conditioning works fine.

Why they come back

"We have become regulars here. Third year in a row. Ample rooms and excellent service."

The worst thing guests say

Noise and soundproofing. One guest in April 2026 said it was impossible to sleep until midnight, and one in May 2024 said a new room did not fix the lack of soundproofing. In September 2024 a guest also found the rooms very dated and did not get the terrace room they had booked. Older restaurant complaints from 2017 and 2023 came from non-guests.

Insider tips

• Light sleeper? Ask for a room away from the main street.
• Parking is a short walk away, and one guest in 2016 was charged 20 euros.
• If you booked a terrace room, confirm it when you check in.
