Dimora Archimedea
A family-run guesthouse beside the Greek theater and archaeological park in Syracuse, with a garden, ancient tombs on the grounds and a vineyard.
Hidden gemWhy people love it
- The hosts. Guests describe owners who give a full introduction to Syracuse and recommend meals. One guest was supported while proposing.
- The garden. Breakfast is served in a garden with trees, plants and ancient caves.
- Rooms in the rock. One guest had a bathroom built into a rock wall.
- Location. It is a walk from the Greek Theatre. Guests say there is internal parking and buses run to Ortigia.
- Soundproofing. A guest in October 2025 called the rooms perfectly soundproofed.
Why they come back
"This was our second visit to this beautiful property near Ortigia."
The worst thing guests say
In May 2026 a guest felt the room was overpriced for what it offered. In May 2025 a guest who paid extra for a suite with a living room was disappointed (the review is cut off). Older reviews say it is a long walk from Ortigia without a car and that the local bus is poor.
Insider tips
- Without a car, plan on the bus or a taxi to Ortigia.
- Follow the owners' restaurant suggestions.
- Parking is on the property.
