Why people love it

  • The view. Guests mention the view over Merano and toward Schenna from the terrace and restaurant.
  • The restaurant. Several guests in 2026 praise generous portions and good prices, and recommend booking a table.
  • The family. One guest thanks the Waldner family, and another calls the staff very friendly.
  • Facilities. Guests mention a clean pool at a good temperature and a playground, and a May 2026 guest found the retro rooms cleaner than expected.

The worst thing guests say

Most older low ratings (2018 to 2022) come from campervan guests who disliked the narrow access road, crowded pitches and shower prices, plus one 2022 guest who found a room old and noisy with repetitive breakfast. In 2026 a guest found a PVC shower cubicle and no TV, and one diner in May 2026 was unhappy with the food. A September 2025 visitor found it closed on its day off.

Insider tips

  • The walk down to Merano is about 20 minutes and signposted, so do not rely on map apps for the distance.
  • Reserve a table, as the terrace fills on holidays.
  • Check the restaurant's day off before you go.
Who it's for: hikers, motorcyclists and campers who want a good meal and a view at a modest price.
Skip it if you want a TV, a modern bathroom or to be in town.
