Hotel Sittnerhof

A 4-star hotel with apartments, two pools and a spa, set among vineyards a few minutes from the center of Merano.

Why people love it

• The hosts and staff. Guests describe the owners and team as friendly and accommodating, and one couple used the hotel's guided excursions several times during a two-week stay.
• Food. Reviewers praise the breakfast buffet, including egg dishes made to order, and the dinner cuisine.
• Quiet and close to town. A July 2026 guest describes a quiet spot among vineyards, minutes from the center, with a spa that has indoor and outdoor pools.
• Dogs and families. Two 2026 guests brought dogs and were warmly welcomed, and parents with small children say they had no issues.

Why they come back

"As always, a 10 out of 10."

The worst thing guests say

In summer 2025 three guests complained: one found the pool and spa areas unsightly and breakfast poor, one called it overpriced and old for four stars, and one said guests who book only breakfast are treated as second class. Older reviews from 2017 to 2022 also mention an outdated wellness area, pools smaller than in the photos, and a cancellation dispute in 2018. The 2026 reviews we read do not repeat these points.

Insider tips

• Ask about the hotel's guided excursions.
• Dog owners: the hotel has welcomed dogs, but a 2021 guest was unhappy with the dog arrangements, so confirm the terms when you book.
• Large apartments are in the annex, La Villa.
