Hôtel La Parata
A family-run hotel on the Route des Sanguinaires west of Ajaccio with an infinity pool, a small private beach and large terraces over the gulf.
Why people love it
- The owners. Guests name Jeanne, her husband José and their family, and describe them as attentive and helpful. In May 2026 they phoned guests on arrival at the airport to check their travel.
- The view and the pool. Rooms and terraces look over the Gulf of Ajaccio, and guests describe a large infinity pool.
- Quiet and a private beach. Guests say it is peaceful, away from the city, and one says the beach is 50 steps away and nearly private.
- Spacious rooms. Room 28 is mentioned for a big terrace and a comfortable bed, and breakfast with Corsican cheeses and pastries is praised.
Why they come back
"We returned this year for the second time, and everything was perfect. We don't even look at other hotels anymore."
The worst thing guests say
The rooms are dated, and air conditioning and a refrigerator are missing, which guests raise in 2024, 2025 and 2026. In June 2025 two guests also mentioned peeling ceiling paint and too few electrical outlets. Older reviews from 2022 and 2023 describe mosquitoes, a cracked pool and an overgrown garden. In July 2026 one guest felt unwelcome.
Insider tips
- Bring a fan or plan for hot nights, since there is no air conditioning.
- Ask for a large terrace sea-view room, such as Room 28.
- Tell them your arrival time, as the owners arrange airport contact.
- Expect a drive to the city center.
