• The building. Guests describe a former monastery with a working church, art in every space, and a quiet courtyard garden.
• Terrace and garden. A guest in July 2026 calls the third-floor terrace a spot for pictures and relaxing, and another mentions the view from the terrace.
• Breakfast. Guests describe the breakfast as decent, great, and world class, and one guest received a small cake for a birthday.
• Staff and bar. Francesca is named in October 2026, and a guest in September 2026 praised a gin martini by a bartender named Mariel.

The worst thing guests say

Misleading rooms and listings are the most repeated complaint. Since 2022, seven stayers say they were put in a separate building or walked out a back entrance to their room, including April 2026, June 2025, May 2025, May 2024, August 2022, June 2023 and June 2022. A second recurring complaint is the BeSafe Plus rate: two February 2026 reviews say what looked like free cancellation was an insurance scheme, and later reviews describe refused refunds for illness or a death in the family. In August 2026 a guest in room 301 said the stay did not match the price.

Insider tips

• Ask which building your room is in before you book. Guests in June 2025 and May 2025 were sent to a separate annex.
• Read the fine print on the BeSafe Plus rate. Two February 2026 guests said it is insurance, not free cancellation.
• Plan dinner elsewhere. A guest in October 2026 noted there is not much to eat other than breakfast.
