Casa Santa Caterina
A guesthouse run in a former convent setting near the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, with free breakfast and parking in an inner courtyard.
Why people love it
- Location. Guests say it is near the center but outside the traffic-limited zone, so it is easy to reach by car, and quiet.
- Free breakfast. One reviewer notes it is one of the few places in Padua with breakfast at no extra charge. Others call it simple but plentiful.
- Mauro and Elena. Guests name them as welcoming. One mentions advice on what to see.
- Parking. The courtyard parking is paid, with one guest reporting EUR 5 a day in January 2026.
Why they come back
"This is the fifth time we've booked this place, and I can't fault it."
The worst thing guests say
Four 1-star reviews between 2022 and 2024 concern staff attitude and booking mistakes: a rude front desk and a refused short-stay request (both November 2024), a reservation entered for the wrong month (2022), and an insult toward the manager (2023). A March 2026 review gave 2 stars, and a 2023 guest said food brought from breakfast was taken. Older reviews from 2018 and 2019 describe prepackaged breakfast and spartan rooms.
Insider tips
- The gate and reception are open set hours. Call on arrival if you come outside them.
- Housekeeping comes every other day.
- Parking in the courtyard is limited, so ask when you book.
