Hotel Carlton

A contemporary hotel with rooms and apartments a few steps from the center of Ferrara, with a lobby bar, a fitness room and an underground garage.

Why people love it

• Location. Guests describe it as steps from the center, a short walk to the Castle and the Cathedral. One regular says it is her go-to hotel when she is in Ferrara.
• Breakfast. Several 2026 reviews call the breakfast good or excellent.
• Clean, functional rooms. Recent guests mention clean rooms, new furnishings and plenty of towels. One family stayed in the Rubino apartment and found it very clean and comfortable.
• Night staff. A June 2026 guest says Eddie at the front desk at night helped them feel at home.

Why they come back

"When I'm in Ferrara, this is my go-to hotel!"

The worst thing guests say

In August 2026 one guest said rooms on the 5th floor can hear noisy air-conditioning units on the roof of the building next door at night. In September 2026 another guest wrote about service problems at a rate of about €180 a night. Two 2022 guests complained about booking and cancellation handling, and checked reviews since 2024 show no repeat of that.

Insider tips

• Underground parking costs extra and is a bit cramped.
• Free parking is available about a 5-minute walk away, at the former MOF.
• Light sleeper? Ask for a room away from the rooftop units rather than on the 5th floor.
