Villa Cimbrone
A hilltop villa hotel in Ravello with large gardens, a terrace over the coast, a restaurant, and a pool.
Why people love it
- The gardens and the setting. Even guests who were unhappy with their stay describe the grounds and the views as beautiful. One calls it probably the prettiest site in Ravello.
- The walk through the grounds. Guests describe the approach through the gardens, and visitors who are not staying can buy entry to walk them.
The worst thing guests say
The most serious recurring complaint from overnight guests is staff service. Five stayer reviews between July 2022 and October 2024 describe staff as rude, inattentive or dismissive, including one at check-out and one at the pool. Two of them, from August 2023 and October 2024, also say the rooms or bathrooms need renovation. In May 2024 a guest said a party with loud music kept them awake. In June 2026 a guest who paid over five figures for a few nights wrote that the stay was not worth the price, and the text cuts off at a question asked at check-out. Most of the newest reviews are from garden visitors, not overnight guests, and the 1-star ones among them are about the 6:00 PM last entry.
Insider tips
- Visitors without a booking pay for garden entry. A September 2026 guest paid 10 euro, and a 2024 guest paid 7 euro.
- Last entry to the gardens is 6:00 PM. Two September 2026 reviewers arrived after it.
- If you have a dog, read the August 2023 review. That guest paid a surcharge and still could not bring the dog onto the outside area.
- Ask about the room and bathroom condition when booking, since two stayers mention dated bathrooms.
